In 1998 a modern museum was opened in the Convent Tract and Princes' Tract of the Augustinian Monastery. A visit there is an encounter with 1200 years of Bavarian history:
Museum "From the monastery to the king's palace" with the baroque Library Hall by Johann Baptist Zimmermann
State Rooms in the Princes' Tract (Imperial Hall, Garden Room)
Private rooms of King Ludwig II
Museum "The Birth of a Constitution"
This part of the museum is dealing with the conference held there to prepare the constitution of the Federal Republic of Germany (1948); it was conceived by the Haus der Bayerischen Geschichte (House of Bavarian History).
